Homepride Flour

Aren't these the cutest boxes of flour that you've ever seen?

DH brought these boxes of Homepride Flour home from a recent trip to our local Sainsbury's. Not only is the packaging adorable and completely retro, they're practical too. The boxes are self sealing which means no more dealing with messy bags of flour and their square shape take up less space in the kitchen.

DH tells me that Homepride Flour has been around for ages in the UK (since the 1920's in fact). How could I have missed these in my local supermarket? I haven't yet cooked with it but I am officially a fan!

A Summer Snack: Homemade Guacamole + Baked Tortilla Chips

(All I need now is an ice cold Corona!)

It's fajita night today in my house and the pre-made guacamole at my local grocery store didn't look very appetizing so I decided to make my own. I'm a huge fan of Mexican food but oddly enough, I've never actually made guacamole myself (shame, I know). Oh, and since tortilla chips are hard to find here in the UK, I thought I'd try my own baked version.

Both are dead easy to make, but I used this guacamole recipe and this baked tortilla chip recipe for inspiration.

Enjoy!

An Easter Treat

Since Easter is upon us, I wanted to make some easy Easter treats together with little miss. Chocolate covered cornflakes is a popular treat here in the UK so I decided to make some Easter egg nests using chocolate covered cornflakes and Cadbury mini eggs.

First, I melted 2 bars of chocolate (I used a dark/milk combo) in the microwave, poured in some cornflakes and let the little one mix until coated. I used a muffin tin and muffin cases to make it a little easier for little miss to spoon in the mixture. Finally, I added the mini eggs, waited for the chocolate to set and then Yummo!

Here's the little one in action:
Thanks Mom! Those mini eggs were yummy :)
